HIGHLIGHTS of Recent Sunday Service
Sunday, April 27, 2008: CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD
Jehovah Shalom: The Lord Is My Peace
Teacher: Gaylon McDowell
Three definitions we need to understand about Peace.
- Jehovah – The I Am in humanity – God individualized in humankind. Our Spiritual Nature.
- Peace – Harmony and tranquility are derived from awareness of the Christ consciousness.
- Peacemaker – One who reduces to peace and harmony all thoughts of strife, anger, and retaliation in his own mind.
Rev. McDowell listed five barriers to Peace (Fear; Dwelling on Past Experiences; the Big CCG of Complaints, Criticism, and Gossip; Peace-less Expectations; Misunderstandings of Cycles of Life)
To attain Peace within, he offered Philippians 4:8 for our Thinking habits; Prayer and Meditation for Five Minutes at a time; Speaking the Word of Peace, Be Still.
For full discussion of these points and the magnificent choral rendition of Peace Be Still, we suggest that you obtain the DVD or CD recording by clicking here.
